Their "fare share" - lol.

How about you go out, rent space, buy the equipment, buy the supplies, do the marketing, pay for the insurance - then claim your "fair share" of the profits, m'kay?

by Anonymousreply 1April 30, 2024 12:50 AM

Ugh. Ne$tlé again!

by Anonymousreply 2April 30, 2024 12:55 AM

Oh, let's be generous and say that the average latte is $7 -that's 500 per 8/hr shift. Assuming 30 min lunch and 2x15 min break - that's 7 hours making lattes or roughly 71 per hour or 1.1 lattes per min this person is lying about making.

by Anonymousreply 3April 30, 2024 12:57 AM

Their first demand should be that their health insurance covers treatment for severe vocal fry.

by Anonymousreply 4April 30, 2024 12:57 AM

Do you know Trader Joe's is union busting?

by Anonymousreply 5April 30, 2024 1:01 AM

I hope they can supply police with an accurate description of the assailant who held a gun to their head and forced them to work at Blue Bottle for slave wages.

by Anonymousreply 6April 30, 2024 1:08 AM

They lost me at septum ring.

by Anonymousreply 7April 30, 2024 1:10 AM

They can all find fulfilling work at HAGS.

🎵 nestle makes the very best

by Anonymousreply 9April 30, 2024 1:16 AM

Does that include tips

by Anonymousreply 10April 30, 2024 1:17 AM

Who thinks they'll make a living making coffee and serving customers at an establishment they don't own?

by Anonymousreply 11April 30, 2024 1:21 AM

Their job could easily be replaced by a machine. And probably will soon. I don't say this with glee as it's going to lead to tough times for many folks. But really, you're not an artist. Not special. You're not even a cook let alone a chef or baker. You're just making coffee. And you work for NESTLE, girl. They're like as evil as it gets. LOL.

by Anonymousreply 12April 30, 2024 2:15 AM

Coffee is very important. A trillion dollar industry. I don't eat fast foods anymore but I do indulge in a coffee a day and not everyone makes a coffee the way I like. Not a skill to be dismissed

by Anonymousreply 13April 30, 2024 2:19 AM

R13 dials with a pencil.

by Anonymousreply 14April 30, 2024 2:20 AM

Spot the tranny.

by Anonymousreply 15April 30, 2024 2:21 AM

This is brought to you, of course, by a leftist organization.

by Anonymousreply 16April 30, 2024 2:21 AM

R13 lost her pearl earring with the final hand gesture of a cup of coffee.

Yes, yes! They are the evil ones!

by Anonymousreply 19April 30, 2024 2:32 AM

They now have robots preparing drinks in some establishments in Vegas. Last night on the news they featured a new robot waitress.

These jobs are going the way of the dinosaur very quickly. These people better figure out a different way to make a living.

by Anonymousreply 20April 30, 2024 2:42 AM

Blue Bottle is my favorite coffee shop in LA. The baristas I’ve chatted with seem perfectly happy and seem to think working there beats Starbucks. I’m not sure why this individual thinks they should be raking in the big bucks… as a barista. No one is a career barista, this is a job you have to get by in between gigs, or while in school.

by Anonymousreply 21April 30, 2024 2:45 AM

'We can replace the lice ridden barista with a machine.'

by Anonymousreply 22April 30, 2024 4:24 AM

More entitlement from generation Z, what else is new

by Anonymousreply 24April 30, 2024 5:51 AM

Do they only hire fugs and freaks?

by Anonymousreply 25April 30, 2024 6:01 AM

they have such math and business smarts they ought to start their own

by Anonymousreply 26April 30, 2024 6:09 AM

It sounds like Fox News in this thread.

ALL LABOR DESERVES A LIVING WAGE

by Anonymousreply 28April 30, 2024 6:25 AM

Well, r27, the people in the video are whiny and unfortunate looking, so one can't expect much praise.

by Anonymousreply 29April 30, 2024 6:26 AM

(^.^) and that have that unfortunate 'The world owes me a living mentality.

by Anonymousreply 30May 2, 2024 3:28 AM

Sorry but wtf is “blue bottle” and who thought that would be a good name for a food product?

Making coffee is not a career. Grow-up and get a real job. You can't be a teenager forever!

by Anonymousreply 32May 2, 2024 3:37 AM

I am the face of Blue Bottle and they have paid for all 16 of my piercings.

by Anonymousreply 33May 2, 2024 4:57 AM

[quote] Who thinks they'll make a living making coffee and serving customers at an establishment they don't own?

What? Only owners of an establishment should expect to make a living wage?

I'm really disappointed in some of the responses in this thread.

by Anonymousreply 34May 2, 2024 5:02 AM

These workers are the same as McDonald’s workers. This isn’t a middle class job.

by Anonymousreply 35May 2, 2024 5:04 AM

This is a great subject for Norma Rae 2.

by Anonymousreply 36May 2, 2024 5:11 AM

Get a better job. Study. Stop complaining.

by Anonymousreply 37May 2, 2024 5:15 AM

Mam, this is Nestlé company.

by Anonymousreply 38May 2, 2024 5:17 AM

I accepted a low-wage low-skill job and that gives me the right to bitch about it.

by Anonymousreply 39May 2, 2024 5:23 AM

Workers in any job deserve a living wage. But I have zero sympathy for workers support a company as despicable as Nestle.

The fucking privilege in thinking we poors can afford to have the standards not to work for criminals and corporate terrorists (which is almost all of them, btw)

by Anonymousreply 42May 2, 2024 9:13 AM

how does a blue bottle evoke the thought or image of coffee?

by Anonymousreply 43May 2, 2024 9:31 AM

Why can't you press some buttons- pick all your flavorings, etc.- have it mixed and served by a robot... then scan your card and leave?

by Anonymousreply 44May 2, 2024 12:07 PM

For those wondering about the name, "W. James Freeman founded Blue Bottle Coffee in the early 2000s in Oakland's Temescal District.[5] Freeman borrowed the name from one of Europe's first cafés, The Blue Bottle Coffee House."

by Anonymousreply 45May 2, 2024 12:12 PM

Still isn’t a great name and not evocative of a nice hot cup of coffee.

by Anonymousreply 46May 2, 2024 4:07 PM
